Condition grading
We use the Goldmine grading standard to assess the condition of records & sleeves (covers)
Mint - Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly has never been played.
Near Mint (NM) - A nearly perfect record. The record or sleeve should show no obvious signs of wear.
Very Good Plus (VG+) - Will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
Very Good (VG) - Noticeable groove wear and light scratches. Surface noise will not overpower the music. Sleeves will have many signs of human handling.
Good Plus (G+) - Can play without skipping. Significant scratches, surface noise, and groove wear. Sleeves have ring wear to the point of distraction, seam splits are obvious on sight and may have even heavier writing
Fair - Record is cracked, badly warped, or won't play through without skipping or repeating. Sleeves are heavily damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing.
Generic - A plain sleeve, or a sleeve with standard record company artwork.
